Dr. Lawrence loves the energy of Student-Athletes! He developed a niche for working with collegiate athletic departments 6 years ago and understands the issues that are unique to them. Having a reputation for working and playing hard, they are higher profile than most students on campus. Their indiscretions do not go under the radar as they do for others. This attracts negative media attention and tarnishes their reputation and that of your athletic program and campus. Dr. Lawrence fosters an understanding that Student-Athletes are ambassadors of their campus, not only in the competitive arena but outside as well. They respond well to his energy, accessibility, interactive exercises, and realistic approach to their issues.
Dr. Lawrence customizes his program and messages specifically to meet the needs of student athletes. They learn about sexual assault prevention, domestic and dating violence, stalking, consequences of choice, and bystander intervention, as he stresses that their teammates are family. Student-Athletes leave his program motivated to make positive choices and to look out for one another. Most importantly they gain an understanding that these are the years to build a solid foundation towards obtaining life goals, a bright future, and to develop a legacy that they are proud of.
I provide guidance in all aspects of NCAA compliance, including consulting should your institution face an NCAA investigation, public relations issues unique to college athletics, drafting and implementing athletics policies and procedures, and developing risk management and litigation avoidance strategies.
My specialization is in educating and training Student-Athletes regarding Title IX issues such as sexual misconduct, domestic violence, healthy relationships, consent, and incapacitation. It is my belief and experience that while Student-Athletes receive mandatory training, all training is not created equally. Furthermore, with reports continuing to surface about Student-Athletes violating sexual misconduct policies at schools all across the country, their understanding is at issue. I have achieved great success in helping each of their Student-Athletes avoid the pitfalls of Title IX by delivering the content on a level that they can understand and in a language that they can understand.
I have extensive experience working directly with Power 5  Athletic Departments where I provide their Title IX programing as it relates to Student-Athletes, Coaches, and Athletic Staff.
I also serve as a Title IX Consultant for the Southern States Athletic Conference and Lead Consultant and Title IX Trainer for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
I would love to visit with you about the possibility of speaking with your Student-Athletes and helping them to get a deeper understanding and clarity on how to navigate this sensitive issue.
